The Kodak zi8 is a "pocket cam". It has many different settings and features that include: High definition video with 1080p format at 30 FPS, image stabilization, auto focus, slot expanded SD/SDHC card with memory up to 32 GB and rechargeable battery with charger or USB.
With dimensions being 4.5 x 0.9 x 2.4 inches and weight of only 3.8 ounces, the Kodak zi8 surely can be stored in a pocket, purse, fanny-pack (do people still wear those?) or child stroller for those candid embarrassing moments that end up on YouTube.
The way you upload your content to your PC or MAC is pretty standard amongst all the "pocket cams" and the zi8 is no different with the USB "pinky". You might ask, "what is this pinky thing he's talking about?" Well, to be blunt, it's the short USB connector attached to the camera and if you have a desktop, it's pretty difficult to attach the damned thing. If you don't have a laptop, make sure you get a USB extension because you might hit your head on the underneath of the desk a million times like I have.
As I have read over tons of reviews, the most popular element that the zi8 has across the board is the mic-in... which I agree. The mic-in sets the camera apart from the older pocket cams and delivers great audio quality.
In conclusion, the Kodak zi8 is hands down the best "pocket cam" for your money with all of it's features and convenience.
